GERBER SOLARA ION - COMING SOON TO MIDWEST!  Midwest is pleased to announce that Gerber’s new Solara ion has been added to its product offerings.The Gerber Solara ion is a roll-to-roll flatbed printer designed for durable, vivid outdoor graphics. Equipped with innovative GerberCAT cationic inks, the ion offers vibrant colors, a greater adhesion to the substrate, an expanded color gamut and flexibility to print fleet graphics. The cold fire cure system uses low energy curing technology enabling users to print on a broader range of substrates including glass and heat-sensitive media. It can print on flat substrates up to 5’ x 10’ sheets, 1” thick to a 64” full bleed capacity. The Gerber Solara ion will be available May 2008, premiering as an affordable, fully functional, outdoor-durable wide format UV inkjet printer. MIMAKI JV33 SERIES SOLVENT PRINTERS  Midwest Sign & Screen has added the Mimaki JV33 solvent printers to its product offerings.
The JV33 is available in two models—the 53.5-inch JV33-130 and the 63-inch JV33-160. JV33 Series outperforms its predecessor, the JV3, by 30%, producing 128 square feet per hour at 540 x 1080 dpi resolution. The JV33 reduces alignment errors with a specially-designed single printhead, which features eight lines of 180 nozzles. The JV33-130 and 160 printers can operate with four types of ink and has an uninterrupted ink supply system, enabling the JV33 to operate for extended print runs. It features a pre-heater to help the inks set and a post heater to expedite the drying process.
